wedding marathon: pete and sarah nell

pete and sarah nell's wedding...was a wonderful weekend to be apart of...from a sweet bridesmaids lunch to toasts at the rehearsal dinner that would make you cry...to the best reception i have been to yet

her uncle gene glass took these photos, her aunt julia glass did the flowers and table arrangements, they were so awsome and very grand and took the lanark pavillion to its glory

wedding marathon: michael and ali

this past week i have been to four weddings, all which were wonderful...ali got married on the 5th at the oaks in montgomery...here are a few pics from her wedding

charles smith was her photographer and ali put everything together herself, it was beautiful...very martha :)..and her dress is her mothers

nyc waterfalls

i am DYING to go see these waterfalls by Olafur Eliasson... he built 4 waterfalls on the river in lower manhattan - including one at the base of the brooklyn bridge...they are up until october, so hopefully i will have time to go see them at some point.... for now, i'm headed down to the beach for vacation with family.... i guess i can settle for an ocean instead of a man-made waterfall on the river... but when i get back, i am definitely planning on doing this bike tour of the falls!...anyone care to join??

While on my trip to New York, me and the other half of holleeanne went to the Cooper-Hewitt. Massimo Vignelli was there doing a demonstartion with the glassblowers. I was so excited to meet him. Here is a pic of me with him and his wife Lela.

now it's beatles stamps

so, there are some pretty cool stamps out these days...i first saw these in I.D.'s 54th annual design rewards...they gave them "best of category"...i am not a huge beatles fan, but these stamps are pretty cool

so this site has so many cute vintage french illustrations...i had a hard time deciding which ones i wanted to post...and they are all high res

these would be so cute to print out on a strathmore script in 100% pc cream white and frame...super cute and inexpensive art

i got so excited when i saw these...they are so fun, jut like the eames...i got some today at my local post office but if you can't find them, click here to purchase

 

ooooh goodie

my favorite icelandic band, Sigur Ros, is coming out with a new album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust  (which apparently translates into "with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly") - on June 24. But for now, you can listen to the whole thing online here - good stuff!! AND....they are playing a show at MoMa on June 18 in conjunction with the Take Your Time exhibit by Omar Eliasson (a fellow icelander!). it's an amazing exhibit, and they are one of my all-time favorite bands!!... I think it's a pretty well-kept secret, and i can't wait! - that is, if i can get tickets...

p.s. - mom, if you're reading this, sorry for the naked butts in the picture...

after renting bikes and riding along the hudson river on sunday, i really want to buy a bike for commuting around town... i want this one reallllllly bad....

This is such a cute website!! - Such great stuff... I REALLY want this paint-by-numbers kit, but it's on backorder... sad. But the rest of their crafts section is equally as fabulous! - I wish I had all the time in the world to sit and paint by number and make baby owl stitch pillows! - I've been seriously starting to consider playing the lottery so I can quit my job and do fun things like that all day! ha!
