barefoot contessa

I love watching Ina Garten, her show is so relaxing to watch and beautiful...I love how she always has a tablescape to go with each of her meals/parties as well.

Here are some shots from her new "barn", inspired by Belgian country houses and barns...found here.

Also, my mom recently share these recipes by Ina with me

and they are delicious and very easy

steal of the century

i took a quick vintage store tour through a few brooklyn neighborhoods yesterday, and found quite the gem. film biz prop shop is a store in gowanus that takes prop donations from the film industry and resells them to keep them from going into landfills. it is a treasure trove of beautiful (and quirky) things at seriously low prices.

i scooped up all the glass containers (& one pewter cup) that i could find, and i think i got some great goodies to keep around for future floral arrangements...

i think my favorites where the three itty bitty cordial glasses i found... etched in tiny letters with "TWA".

.... BUT, the best part was the pricetag - this was the TOTAL! quite the steal in nyc.

Cile's Baby Shower

Baby Shower Menu

Vanilla Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream Icing

Home Made Ice Cream

Lemons Bars

Cheese Straws

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Citrus Almond Punch

My mom has such pretty pansies in the back yard we just pickesd those

and placed in her collection of miniture vases.

I made this banner for Baby Hess and used vintage maps for some

of the pieces to match the baby's room.

Me and the mom to be, Cile.

Presents...

Baby Hess will be very outdoorsy (like mom and dad) in his new Northface outfit

I gave Baby Hess a Sophie the Girraffe from France

Baby Hess will match Mommy in it's new striped jumper

Instead of a card we all brought a little golden book for Baby Hess.

War Eagle for baby.

We played 2 fun games, one we all had to take a piece of yarn and guess how big Cile's tummy is.

The second game we each started with a clothes pin, if someone said the word "baby" they lost their pin to the person that catches them saying baby.

It was such a fun shower and my mom did a great job organizing it and baking and I had fun getting to do some details like the banner, little cake flags and invitations.

new favorite

I am loving the warm gray nail polish colors...I just got this one called

Master Plan by Essie tonight...it looks great.

charlton and holly's rehearsal dinner

I designed the invites, name tags and menu cards (see below).

Our rehearsal dinner took place at the Carraway Davie House.

The Allen Tolbert Unit played bluegrass music.

Charlton's dad, Jim, playing bass.

My friend, Kelsey, let me borrow these table numbers that her husband,

Brett, had made for their wedding

The flowers were done by Mrs. Mooney, a very talented family friend.

Yummy southern food.
