pop-up calendar
out of all the calendars i pored over and tried to decide between this year, none of them were anything like this! - how cool... this seems like something i may need for my desk at work...?

cupcake cupcake
i love it when someone just gets your style... i got an email today from a friend who i miss a lot... she said she thought i would like this tutorial on 100 layer cake, and she was right!! - how fun would it be to have these all over the place for a party? or strung on a christmas tree? - ooh, and for a new year's party you could add in some metallic cupcake liners! - fancy....

stitched thank-yous
my friend maggie asked me to make her a set of thank-yous for all of the wedding festivities she's having these days. it only took me forever & a day to get them done, but i finally finished them last night! - here they are.... inspired by a lot of the hollywood regency patterns i've been loving lately...
haha..... i got tired of looking at pictures on my hardwood floors so i tried to create a backdrop a la school day pictures.... awesome, right? it's like glamour shots for cards....
(in case you read this before i see you this afternoon, maggie... sorry to ruin the surprise! - consider this a sneak peek...)
(oh and rhonda, in case you're reading this too.... i haven't forgotten about your set! - they're in progress and will be coming next... this one just had a set time limit...)

visual
i was looking through the beast pieces blog and re-discovered this poster that they did for the college of visual arts in st. paul. i meant to post here as soon as i saw it, but forgot...until now!

it is so beautiful, they always do a good job over at studio on fire. i am continually impressed. and i love reading about their process, too. it just confirms my suspicion that i should work in a print shop instead of slaving away at this computer....

simon schubert's paper-fold 2-d sculptures have already made the rounds on a ton of the blogs i follow, and for good reason!
