In addition to its major hosting change (from Jay Leno to Conan O'Brien) on June 1st, The Tonight Show is also undergoing quite a re-brand ::

















Oh, and, just for reference, here's the current logo that will be retired ::





The new one is a vast improvement, if you ask me.

+Plus, the new logo design (the "with Conan O'Brien" part) is using one of my favorite fonts, Bernhard Gothic... and "The Tonight Show" is in a typeface called Neutraface No.2 Display Inline, in case you were wondering ;)

Even better is this quote from Conan about the thought behind the new logo ::

"I wanted a logo that acknowledged the long, rich tradition of The Tonight Show while still looking good on hats, T-shirts, mugs, lawn furniture, notebooks, stemware, urns, defibrillators, water bottles, cell phones, sports equipment, pens, vacuums, chimes and our new line of unisex cologne."

so i discovered today that my style i like in decor is called hollywood regency

fluorescent love

i am in love with all things fluorescent these days, and these designs from studio on fire are no exception. i am loving such bright ink applied to letterpress!

j.crew also has some great fluorescent surprises these days... kind of unexpected coming from them (and the fluorescent doesn't quite show up on the screen as bright as in person), but i fell in love... so the obvious solution was to buy the bright pink belt....but now i really want those flats...

i freaked out when i saw the title of this blog posting on the small stump...

because these are my three very favorite things you could ever put into a bouquet!

also, i bought peonies from a corner deli tonight, and they are opening up as we speak... and i am happy.

this is exactly why i'm going to have to go back to the cooper hewitt sometime soon...

she is actually knitting wool floor tiles out of enormous knitting needles!

also, lots more good design in the new exhibit, design for a living world...

oh my goodness, what a great reading room this is... not only do you have built-in-bookshelves, but there's also a cute little window (or two) two tucked in there, and two classic womb chairs to curl up in.... mmmmm

The Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara, CA last week caused these two to take shelter together. The fawn is 3 days old and the bobcat about 3 weeks. The fawn came from somewhere in the fire and the bobcat from Carpentaria. They immediately bonded and snuggled together under a desk in the Santa Barbara County Dispatch Office for several hours.

it's that time again

holly, can you believe it was a year ago that you were in town for the stationery show? well it's already here again... time sure has flown by quickly, but i am glad to see some roundups today here, here, and here... with plenty more to come, i'm sure... i seriously wish i could take off work and go to the show.... sigh.....
